Social Life

Toulouse is ranked second among the top student cities and towns by L'Étudiant. Toulouse is a welcoming and pleasant city with a vibrant cultural and sporting life. It also provides numerous chances in the domains of aeronautics, space, electronics, biotechnologies, and health...

Every day of the week, there will be a party in this city. You may choose if you want to go out for a drink at a bar or to a party in a nightclub or somewhere else in the city. Place de St. Pierre is a very popular spot to go out (as you will surely learn on your first days there). Many students start their evenings or nights at the square's pubs, and if they feel like it, they proceed to a city club, such as the nightclub and music hall Saint des Seins.

Because of the color of the bricks in many of its structures, this city is also known as the pink city. The Couvent des Jacobins, a 13th-century Gothic-style monastery, the Musée des Augustins, with paintings and sculptures from various times, the Basilica of St-Sernin, built with characteristic pink bricks and stones, and the Capitole, a truly remarkable edifice, are all worth seeing.

In terms of traditional gastronomy, you can find cassoulet, saucisse de Toulouse, Toulouse salad, le poulet a la toulousaine, or the famous fondue, though this last dish comes from Swiss cuisine. You can taste the specialties of French cuisine in the city's most typical restaurants, so take advantage of it!
