There is no specific pre-dental major, so graduating with a placement in dental school is the first step in your career path. After completing the undergraduate education, it is necessary to do a master's degree in the field to be specialized. Most dental school goers intend to specialize in general dentistry and start their practice. However, there are many other specialization options. Since the person who will be a dentist will have to follow professional developments closely, they should be people who love to read and have a passion for self-development.
Since the dental chair is frightening for many people, calm and friendly people should prefer dentistry. Dentistry will not be a suitable department for people who think that they do not have this feature. International students are accepted to the Faculties of Dentistry in Turkey with the YOS exam. As a foreign student, it is necessary to prepare very well for the YOS Exam in order to be able to study Dentistry without wasting time and energy. In accordance with education standards, all universities are inter-institutional accredited and provide education under equal conditions.
Dentistry is among the top three most preferred departments among candidates. For this reason, universities accept students who have the best scores in the Foreign Student Exam.

Those who continue their academic education can do their specialization through PhD. Dentistry education lasts for 5 years, that is, divided into 10 semesters covering 2 semesters per year. In the first year of education, basic science branches are predominant, these are mainly courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Histology and Pharmacology. This part of the training corresponds to the Vorphysikum or Pre-clinical Phase in the European Union or the USA. Moreover, in the first years, materials are introduced and their purposes are understood.
Starting from the fifth academic year students work at clinics or do their internships at the universities. This year is a practical year in which they see preventive dentistry and all its sub-branches practically like the 6th grade intern students in the Faculty of Medicine in their last years.

Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry
Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry is one of the schools that provide education in English. At the same time, the fact that it is one of the schools that accept students with high scores and provide quality education is one of the reasons for its high preference. Marmara University, which is a well-established institution and draws attention with its education, has a preparatory class for students who do not have English language proficiency.
Baskent University Faculty of Dentistry
Baskent University is one of the universities with English dentistry. The school, which is frequently preferred by foreign students, is in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. There is also a one-year preparatory program for students who wish to study dentistry in English at school. For those who cannot achieve language proficiency in international students, there is a very necessary one-year education right.
The International Student Examination is an exam that foreign students who want to study in higher education institutions in Turkey can take and use their results when applying for admission to these institutions. Universities organize International Student Exams within the same year at their campuses.
The main requirement for studying dentistry in Turkey is a diploma equivalent to a high school diploma in Turkey. The second main condition is to get enough points by taking the YOS exam.
If there is no high school diploma equivalent to the Turkish High School Diploma, it is possible to obtain a high school diploma through the open high school program abroad. Students with diplomas such as Abitur, Matura, Fachabitur can study dentistry through the YOS exam.
