Accounting is the general name given to the recording process of financial transactions along with recording, ordering, taking, summarizing and presenting the results in various reports and analyses. Accounting is also a field of study and profession dedicated to fulfilling these tasks. Accounting is a 4-year undergraduate department taught at universities within the scope of the School of Applied Sciences. As of 2020, accounting is available in only 3 universities with 4 different options in Turkey. Accounting graduates focus on providing the management of a company with the knowledge necessary to keep the business financially healthy. While some information comes from recorded transactions, many of the analyzes and reports contain estimated and projected amounts based on various assumptions. Generally, this information is not distributed to people outside the company's management. A few examples of this information are budgets, standards for controlling operations, and estimating sales prices when quoting new business.

The Accounting Department education period is 4 years. Training is given in the field of business and accounting in the first year, corporate accounting in the second year, financial management in the third year and Turkish tax system in the fourth year. Graduates of the Department of Accounting can work as accountants, accounting specialists, finance specialists and financial advisors. There are opportunities to work in all institutions and organizations, tax offices and notaries in Turkey and in the world. Foreign students who want to study accounting in Turkey are recommended to learn Turkish as majority of the classes are given in Turkish.
